Oil on Pumice & Wood
Framed Format 27x27cm
This wall-mounted sculptural work incorporates a pumice from the Lake Taupō region of Aotearoa New Zealand.
An area deeply shaped by volcanic activity, eruption, ash, water, and geological transformation.
The stone at the centre.
Object and aperture.
Blackened surface
Glowing inner ring.
Crater
Eclipse
Volcanic mouth
Ancient eye.
Around it, subtle circular marks radiate outward, evoking pressure waves, planetary orbits, geological time, and the invisible forces that shape matter.
Part painting, part relief, part ritual object, the work explores the meeting point between natural material and constructed image. The pumice carries the memory of eruption: light yet hardened, fragile yet enduring. Suspended within the frame, it becomes a small monument to origin and transformation.
Work photographed without plexiglass.
Work sent with Plexiglass installed.
